Life, it's a Big Faith Journey

We can be so much stronger than we believe ourselves to be and yet it takes less on our part than we think.  We do not have to exhaust ourselves but rest in our Lord. Evil is ever so present in our world and we do not always know how to battle the issues and the people that we are up against. And yet in Ephesians 6:12 it tells us, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."Therefore we must put on our armor of God and fight the good fight and be the light of the world. We must allow our God to have vengence. God tells us to hold every thought captive for a really important reason. Here is why: we are light. And we get this light from our God who is full of goodness. So the more light we put in the stronger we are to stand against the evil. Our light is bright. A few years ago when I was talking to someone about some things that I didn't quite understand about my life and I was feeling sad, this person really helped bring revelation to understanding of what I was going through, what I didn't realize. She said that it sounded like I keep trying to earn my salvation. It was a shocking revaluation but that is exactly what I was trying to do. I was always striving to be better at everything and I was tired, disappointed and headed for a nervous breakdown. She said why are you working so hard at what you already have? Jesus Christ already paid the price of my sins and gave me the gift of eternal life. I have salvation. And its a gift and God gave it to me. Why do I keep working so hard at trying to earn it?  I think it was for me like it is for so many of you. I kept blaming myself, I had not forgiven myself. I used to think God was always mad at me. The more fragile you allow people to treat you, the more fragile you will become. Its true with anything you allow people to do towards you and what you allow into your mind. Thus, we are truly what we think we are. If this is you, you need not only to learn to think more for and of yourself but also change the way you think! You also need to change the way you speak to other people and about them. Speak life into others just as you should speak life over your own life. Negative words steal, kill and destroy life. The power of your life is in your words, so speak them well and give life by speaking them well of others too. Encourage yourself and be an encourager to others. 

What a beautiful morning it has been! I was never a morning person. I've come to enjoy and appreciate them now. My Dad would tell us to lay out all of our things the night before so that we didn't have any upset trying to find the missing shoe or take extra time to decide what to wear. He said to lay out our school stuff, make sure we had everything the night before. It made for a much more smooth transition and he reminded us of these things each night before going to bed. My Dad was never late to work, even when he had a flat or something he still managed to make it to work before time. He would leave in enough time to accommodate those incidents and be there well before he had to be. But God has put it on my heart to share it with all of you, man or woman to encourage and build you up. Behold how the Lord loves me! I am His and He loves me. When I was a child I felt God didn't really like me, that He was disappointed in me. The fact of the matter was I was all that to myself. But I was so wrong about what God thought and felt about me. God ended up telling me so. He told me He was a God of love. I believe it is easy when hearing those type of fire and damnation sermons for anyone to believe the opposite.
